I was talking to a fellow social entrepreneur yesterday about work/life balance. He admitted that he does not look after himself as much as he could, he spends a lot of time supporting others. How much can you relate to that?! We also spoke about how we can get caught up in firefighting, drama and crisis and forget to look after ourselves. We leave ourselves behind. One way to address this situation is to move away from crisis and embrace maintenance. Paying attention to ourselves, even in small ways, on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. The more we practice looking after ourselves, the less drama and crisis we are drawn towards, the more energy we have to enjoy life and connect with others. Connecting with like-minded people, learning and sharing are huge deposits in your self care bank. This month there is the opportunity to join us on the first of our wellbeing days, and to join our positive psychology practice group. There is also the easiest, most accessible strategy that will increase your positive emotion -
100 % guaranteed :)

Look up to the sky

In honour of Look Up To The Sky Day this month (April 14th) this is a reminder of the most wonderful, effective, accessible, positive intervention. Taking the time to look up rather than rush through life, is a mindfulness and savouring activity. We can notice the changing colours of the sky in different seasons, the changing shape of clouds, the mood - is it bright and sunny, dark and gloomy, peaceful or active. Looking upwards also lifts your body, which lifts your mood. Go outside, look up today and every day. Let me know what the experience is like for you. Here are some of my sky photos, of which there are many!
