I love Autumn. It is the time to appreciate and wonder at the beautiful colours of nature, and to rest and recover by snuggling under a blanket with a hot chocolate. It is the time to look back and savour long summer days and light evenings and savour forward to the joy of Christmas time. How do you feel about Christmas? I love Christmas, on xmas day and beyond and yet the build up towards xmas leaves me feeling cold. For many people the journey towards Christmas day can be fraught with stress and overwhelm. The reason for the stress and overwhelm is likely to be different for each of us. Recognising that mindfulness meditation can help change our relationship with stress, Caroline Livingstone and I are running a 4 week introduction to meditation group from Monday 22nd November, details below.

Kristen Neff's theory of self-compassion identifies 3 factors, Kindness, Common Humanity & Mindfulness.
|
|
Kindness - Reassuring myself that I am doing enough, that I can let somethings go and the sky won't fall in. Encouraging myself to rest rather than pushing myself to exhaustion.
|
|
Common Humanity - We are in this together, I am not alone in this feeling.
|
Mindfulness - I am present in this moment, in this moment there is nothing to fear.
|
